Choreographer and Master in Oriental Dance, Oriental DanceMy love affair with art and dance dates back to my childhood at the Palace of Fine Arts in Sto Dgo, Dom. Rep., where I was born. The Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa are some of the dances I learned as a child. I have observed and studied dance abroad in Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, Germany, Spain, Austria, Egypt and Palestine, Israel to name a few. I was first introduced to belly dance in 1996 in Nablus, Palestine. While living in Egypt, I got the opportunity to pursue formal study with Souhair Nemesis at the prestigious Gaby Shiba Dance & Performing Arts Training Ctr. in Cairo. Since each teacher has different styles, techniques and experiences, I also studied with Fadwa Faransaui at the Samia Allouba Center, in Maadi, Egypt. Because learning is a continuous process, I often seeks out teachers with unfamiliar styles for me. Thus my dance background is quite varied. I have continued to choreograph dance routines as well as teach dance.
