Abstract:
Driver circuits for a fluid dispenser operable to dispense a fluid onto a substrate. One driver circuit uses high and low voltage busses to provide a quick pull-in current. Flyback current during a transition to a hold current is clamped to the high voltage bus to return energy to the high voltage bus, which is a capacitor. Another driver circuit uses transitional current references to control coil current at the initial pull-in transition and at the transition from pull-in to hold. In the transition from pull-in to hold, the flyback coil current is modulated between a flyback mode and a freewheel mode.

Abstract:
The present disclosure involves a charging system for charging an implanted medical system. The charging device includes a replenishable power supply. The charging device includes a coil assembly electrically coupled to the power supply. The coil assembly includes a primary coil and a plurality of sense coils positioned proximate to the primary coil. The charging device includes electrical circuitry operable to: measure an electrical parameter of the coil assembly; and determine a position of the coil assembly relative to a position of the implanted medical device based on the measured electrical parameter. The charging device includes a visual communications interface operable to: receive an input from the electrical circuitry; and visually display on a screen the position of the coil assembly relative to the position of the implanted medical device based on the input received from the electrical circuitry.

Abstract:
A method for inserting a lead electrode into body tissue using a rotatable lead introducer is described. The introducer can include a distal element for releasably engaging a lead head controllable from a proximal control located outside of the body. An inner stem can extend between a proximal portion and a distal portion, and be pivotally and rotatably coupled to the distal lead engagement mechanism. An outer tube can be rotatably disposed over the inner stem and be flexibly coupled over the pivot to rotationally drive the distal element. A helical epicardial-myocardial lead electrode can be secured and oriented straight ahead and introduced through a port or small incision with the introducer in a straight configuration. The introducer can then be bent and rotated to screw the helical electrode into the heart.

Provided is a micropower impulse radar (MIR) pneumothorax detector. The detector includes a processor and a handheld MIR scanner. The handheld MIR scanner includes a device housing, an antenna located within the device housing, circuitry that generates MIR signals, and circuitry that processes received echoes of the MIR signals and provides the processed received echoes to the processor. The processor automatically determines whether a pneumothorax is present based on the processed received echoes of the MIR signals.
