Philosophy:
Sustaining a vibrant relationship isn't easy. Couples I see work to 1.Increasing positive interactions (neglecting to find time and energy to generate positive feelings weakens a relationship) 2.Sharing the the hard stuff (partners often feel closer when upsetting and difficult feelings can be expressed and understood.) 3.Changing harmful habits (when the positive decreases, partners often view each other more negatively and may form habits of withdrawing or offending.) 4.Making sure both partners count (when partners understand how they are wired differently, they often stop competing and start working together.)
5.Repairing broken trust (couples counseling can guide you in caring for the intense upset emotions set off by the crisis, reorienting and restabilizing enough to begin the repair work, understanding how the crisis could happen, and gaining confidence that the offense is unlikely to recur in the future.)
6.Resolving relationship doubts
