Dust Collector Bag Fastening Apparatus

US Patent:
5904743, May 18, 1999
Filed:
May 21, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/082826
Inventors:
Robert Jensen - Tucson AZ
International Classification:
B01D46/02
US Classification:
553411
Abstract:
An improved baghouse which is adapted to remove particulate matter from an air flow. The baghouse has three main chambers being the plenum, the receiving chamber, and a hopper. The three chambers are separated from each other using tubesheets having multiple holes therein. Filtering bags are connected to the upper and lower tubesheets. Attachment of the bag to the upper tubesheet is accomplished using a thimble that is preferably assembled with the bag and then delivered to the site ready for easy insertion into the hole of the tubesheet. A strap to sandwich the bag to the upper thimble. At the lower end, there are attached thimbles on the tubesheet and the bags are secured to those thimbles using clamps. Through the use of beads on the thimbles and bags, shaped clamps and straps, the bag is secured to both thimbles such that slippage and leakage are eliminated; further the shaped bottom clamps prevent relative motion between the bag and the top of the bottom thimble so that excess bag wear is avoided.

Bag Cleaning Compressed Air Nozzle

US Patent:
7309366, Dec 18, 2007
Filed:
Apr 5, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/399061
Inventors:
Robert M. Jensen - Tucson AZ, US
International Classification:
B01D 46/02
US Classification:
55283, 55284, 55294, 55302, 95279, 153121, 153122, 15352, 210332, 210409, 210413
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for cleaning filter cake from the interior of a baghouse bag. A nozzle through which compressed gas flows is positioned on the interior of a bag such that gas is directed to, and thereby disrupts, the filter cake. The compressed gas flows in the same direction as a gas that is being filtered by the baghouse, thereby avoiding the effects of reverse-flow cleaning.

Baghouse Floater Purge System

US Patent:
5269835, Dec 14, 1993
Filed:
Oct 13, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/959669
Inventors:
Robert M. Jensen - Tucson AZ
International Classification:
B01D 4604
US Classification:
95279
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for purging floaters in top inlet baghouse construction wherein the upper plenum of a baghouse compartment and the clean exhaust gases duct are operably connected with a purge duct, a controllable purge damper inserted therein. At termination of the usual cleaning operation, clean exhaust gases are introduced into the top plenum by opening of the controllable purge damper to purge floaters from the upper plenum and down through the bag filters and out the bottom plenum to the reverse air duct. At the termination of the floater purge cycle, the purge damper is closed and the compartment returned to on-line operation. In alternate embodiments, a bottom inlet baghouse construction is purged of floaters wherein clean exhaust gases are given entrance into the upper portion of the bag filters with a controllable purge damper interposed. One embodiment connects with the clean exhaust duct and the other embodiment opens to the filter plenum. At termination of the usual cleaning operation, clean exhaust gases are introduced into the upper portion of the bag filters by opening the controllable purge damper.
