Interests:
New innovations concerning reducing disk/data footprint. Netapp, IBM, EMC all have solutions. Compression is not going to be the answer. ILM, coding paradigm shifts, and new technologies are needed. Data quality is another interest. HA on hardware will only take you so far. Many outages are caused by poor data quality. If the customer has a gut feel the data is bad, we already lose because they're probably right.
When I'm not working I enjoy flying, brewing, fishing and being with my wife and kids.
