Abstract:
A data receiving and illuminatable marking instrument and spaced emission source is disclosed. The marking instrument may be a full duplex marking apparatus that communicates with spaced emitters transmitting infrared electromagnetic energy encoded with unique data packets. The marking instrument illuminates a portion of the marking implement in response to the data received from the data transmitting device. A method for using the above invention likewise is disclosed.

Abstract:
An illuminated-display unit useable to provide artwork with rotating, glowing effects is described. The illuminated-display unit includes a base, a plate, and a dome. The base has a top surface with a central receptacle and an annular channel, a control panel, and light sources housed therein. The plate is disposed within the receptacle and the dome is disposed on the base to engage the annular channel and thereby accept the plate within its interior. Ink drawings or artwork are drawn on surfaces of the plate and the dome. The light sources are illuminated to provide internally reflected light within the plate and base. The ink on the plate and base refracts the internally reflected light and/or chemically or physically reacts thereto to provide a glowing effect. The dome and/or the plate are rotatable manually or mechanically to provide an animated effect to the illuminated display.

Abstract:
A toy vehicle with a rotatable light display. The toy vehicle includes a housing defined by outer walls surrounding a hollow interior and at least substantially forming a toy vehicle body. The housing has a plurality of openings through the outer walls. At least translucent panels are coupled to the housing and aligned with the plurality of openings. A motor is mounted within the hollow interior. A light source is within the hollow interior. A rotatable member is drivingly connected to the motor in the interior so as to be rotated by operation of the motor. The rotatable member is positioned with respect to the light source so as to direct at least one beam of light emitted from the light source about the hollow interior and sequentially and cyclically through the plurality of openings and aligned translucent panels.
