Philosophy:
To me, cancer is the illness of our times. Cancer is uncontrolled or unlimited cell growth. The body has a natural way of killing or putting to death cells that are pre-programmed to die. When natural cell death, or apoptosis, is disrupted, there is uncontrolled growth of a particular line of cells in the body, and this is what constitutes cancer. This ideology of uncontrolled growth parallels what has happened in Western civilization over the past 50 years.
