Air Measuring Apparatus And Method For Paint Rotary Bell Atomizers

Air Measuring Apparatus And Method For Paint Rotary Bell Atomizers

US Patent:
5683032, Nov 4, 1997
Filed:
Jun 29, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/496507
Inventors:
Jacob Braslaw - Farmington Hills MI
Kevin R. Ellwood - Ann Arbor MI
Robert M. Smith - Farmington Hills MI
Assignee:
Ford Global Technologies, Inc. - Dearborn MI
International Classification:
B05B 1704
US Classification:
239 7
Abstract:
Apparatus for measuring the velocity of shaping air in a rotary bell atomizer for a paint sprayer, including a funnel that collects substantially all of the shaping air, a means for straightening the collected shaping air and a means for measuring the velocity of the straightened shaping air. These techniques enable the average velocity of the shaping air to be calibrated from a single velocity sample.

Connection Terminals For Rigid-Wire Loop Cartridge Light Bulbs

Connection Terminals For Rigid-Wire Loop Cartridge Light Bulbs

US Patent:
4938709, Jul 3, 1990
Filed:
Jun 19, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/367893
Inventors:
Robert J. Smith - Farmington Hills MI
David J. Gardner - Fraser MI
Assignee:
Judco Manufacturing Corporation - Harbor City CA
International Classification:
H01R 3302
US Classification:
439239
Abstract:
Terminals for electrically contacting wire loops disposed on each end of a cartridge type bulb are formed from resilient electrically conducting sheet metal. Each terminal consists of an elongated member having a relatively narrow contact portion joined to a wider base portion at a shoulder. The contact portion has a outwardly projection tab acting to retain the wire loop of a cartridge type bulb, while the base portion has a downwardly projecting tab for securing the terminal in a lamp housing or socket assembly. A means for electrically connecting a wire to end of the base of the terminal is provided by arcuate shaped projecting tabs which can be crimped over the wire core and insulating jacket.

Slide Switch

Slide Switch

US Patent:
4816626, Mar 28, 1989
Filed:
Jul 13, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/218160
Inventors:
Joseph Valenzona - La Mirada CA
Robert J. Smith - Farmington Hills MI
Assignee:
Judco Manufacturing Company - Harbor City CA
International Classification:
H01H 1500
US Classification:
200 16F
Abstract:
A slide switch assembly having a slide contact movable by a slide actuator across aligned flat blade contacts of a plurality of electrical terminals fixed in position between complemental halves of an inner housing disposed within an outer housing. The slide actuator and outer housing include complemental detents providing a tactile indication of the attainment by the slide contact of a predetermined switch position relative to the fixed blade contacts. The inner housing includes a pair of resilient, oppositely extending cantilever members engaged upon the slide actuator to bias the complemental detents together to enhance the tactile indication. The arrangement eliminates coil springs, centering balls and the like. The inner housing halves and outer housing are made of plastic material whose resilience is utilized to snap fit them together without the use of conventional fasteners.
