Todays education system has had a mandate to strengthen math & science with-in our schools, as a result art education is being down sized or eliminated because of budget cuts and lack of funding, Strengthening our math & sciences are in critical need. However not at the expense of Art .Studies show that art education enhances the development of the part of the brain that strengthens the capability to reason,be innovative, be creative, to do critical thinking and " out of the box" concepts It will have an extremely negative impact on future generations if de-emphasis on art education continues, Art development is greatly needed by todays students. Anyone with information, ideas, groups/organizations that can provide input or can help in this area I would like to hear from. Also if knowledgeable in the area of Art Therapy.
