Abstract:
Disclosed is a means for retaining drill chucks for down hole drills including a circumferential groove cut in both the drill chuck and the wear sleeve, into which it is inserted, in complimentary mating orientation whereby the circumferential groove forms a channel which is filled with ball bearings, for example through access ports provided in the wear sleeve. The ball bearings prevent uncoupling and may be removed readily thereafter permitting removal of the chuck.

Abstract:
The lubricator of the invention is a one-shot or non-continuous type. It has a first reservoir within which to receive a charge of lubricant, and a second reservoir from which to expel a charge of lubricant, and a piston slidable therebetween for moving lubricant from the first reservoir to the second reservoir, and also for discharging lubricant from the second reservoir and externally of the lubricator. Upon the piston moving, slidably, in a first direction it creates a partial vacuum in the first reservoir and, consequently, ingests lubricant into the first reservoir. Then, as the piston moves in the second, opposite direction, it diminishes the volume of the first reservoir, and displaces lubricant therefrom through a channel formed centrally in the piston. The lubricant conducted through the channel is deposited in the second reservoir, and is expelled therefrom, by the piston, when next the piston moves in the first, slidable direction.

Abstract:
An overrunning clutch designed for use with engine starters and the like whereby the starter may apply its output to start the engine without damage due to overspeed of critical starting motor components after the engine has started and obtained running speed. The overrunning clutch of this invention is provided with two splines. The first a straight spline which allows axial translation of the starter output shaft and a second helical spline which assists in engagement and disengagement of interlocking face clutch jaws between the input drive shaft and the output drive shaft. A centrifugally restrained clutch engagement spring in combination with the helical spline permits overrunning with minimum wear of the face clutch jaws.

Abstract:
An air line lubricator for air motors and the like which is self priming and provides a controlled, continuous supply of oil for a limited duration once the air line is pressurized. The lubricator utilizes a unique check seal in combination with a bevelled and stepped piston. The construction further allows the use of a single ball check and deposits the lubricating oil directly into the air stream apart from the air line surface.
