Philosophy:
Diabetes is a lifelong condition. My approach to treatment, and that of the Joslin Clinic, is to empower people with diabetes to take the best possible care of themselves. We involve the patient in his or her own treatment plan, from deciding on lifestyle changes, discussing which therapies to use, to training people to understand their condition and use that understanding to take care of themselves. I see new patients by physician referral, but other colleagues at Joslin are available to all.
