Richard Korchien is a graduate of Pratt Institute with a degree in Architecture. As an Associate professor at Pratt, he has taught structural design in the college’s School of Architecture. After graduating, he served in the United States Army – Corps of Engineers, where his experience in research and development was applied to federal government projects.
Mr. Korchien joined the company in the late 1950’s as the project architect for Sabena Belgian Airlines that was building a new terminal at Idlewild Airport (now JFK). This lead to designing and supervising projects for Sabena throughout the US and Canada. During his career with the company he has worked as a designer, project director, technical analyst and chief project coordinator in the New York Headquarters of the organization. As Vice President, he was responsible for the supervision of all space analysis, planning and production activities in the company’s operations.
