Laser Indicator Having Rounded Lens To Widen A Laser Beam

US Patent:
6527416, Mar 4, 2003
Filed:
Sep 18, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/663622
Inventors:
Richard E. Reason - Woodland Park CO 80863
Christina L. Reason - Woodland Park CO 80863
International Classification:
F21K 200
US Classification:
362259, 362205, 362109, 362277
Abstract:
A beam from a laser is light which is much more efficiently produced and which much more efficiently projects over distance than light from an incandescent source. However, because of its concentrated nature laser light has generally been of no use in viewing objects. A laser indicator which uniformly disperses a laser beam so that it may be used to view objects and particulates in the air comprises: a laser generator for generating a parallel beam; a first lens positioned in front of the laser generator having a rounded curvature, so that as the beam of light projects through the lens, the parallel beam of light is uniformly diverged; and, a housing maintaining the laser generator and the first lens in alignment. For some applications the above laser indicator further provides for a power switch and a power source being a battery. The housing carries the power switch and further comprises a cavity to house the battery.

Airport And Runway Laser Lighting Method

US Patent:
6320516, Nov 20, 2001
Filed:
Mar 20, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/528567
Inventors:
Richard E. Reason - Woodland Park CO
International Classification:
G08G 500
US Classification:
340953
Abstract:
FAA regulations mandate that a pilot must have sufficient visibility to see the airport, and then the runway before landing; and sufficient visibility to see a substantial portion of the runway before taking off. In adverse weather conditions when visibility is reduced flights are cancelled, delayed, and rerouted to land where visibility is adequate. Poor visibility is one of the major causes of air traffic fatalities. One aspect of this invention discloses a method of illuminating an aircraft landing location to facilitate identification and aircraft guidance thereto comprising the following steps: projecting a laser beam upwardly from the location so that an aircraft may be better able to target the landing location particularly in conditions of poor visibility. A preferred aspect of this invention provides for a method as above wherein the landing location comprises a runway and wherein the laser beam is projected upwardly from the runway and in a direction of the approach to the runway so that aircraft wanting to land can be guided to the runway. Most preferably the beam oscillates up and down so that generally a triangular wall of light is projected.

Sack Dispensing Waste Container

US Patent:
6126031, Oct 3, 2000
Filed:
Jun 3, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/868377
Inventors:
Richard E. Reason - Woodland Park CO
International Classification:
B65F 106
US Classification:
22049507
Abstract:
A waste container which automatically dispenses and positions a sack within the waste container when an existing sack, full of waste is removed from the waste container is disclosed. One aspect of the invention is an adaption to dispense a roll sacks into a conventional waste container of the type having a side wall, a top rim, and a lower bottom wall 30. The adaption comprises: an upper bottom wall extending across an interior of the container so that a sack holding compartment is formed in the bottom portion of the container, with upper bottom wall having a central sack outlet opening therethrough; and, a sack inlet access opening into the bag holding compartment to permit insertion of unopened sacks therethrough. A second aspect of the invention provides for an upper bottom wall insert for a conventional waste container to facilitate storage and dispensing of unopened sacks into the container. The insert comprises: an upper bottom wall sized to fit closely within the waste container having a central sack outlet opening therethrough; and, spacing means to support the upper bottom wall at a spaced distance above a bottom side portion of the container.

Methods And Systems For Airport Runway Lighting And Communications

US Patent:
2008020, Aug 28, 2008
Filed:
Feb 28, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/712124
Inventors:
Richard E. Reason - Woodland Park CO, US
Darren Kaberna - Woodland Park CO, US
Assignee:
Bright Ideaz, Inc. - Woodland Park CO
International Classification:
B64F 1/18
US Classification:
