Stackable Display Container

US Patent:
6568588, May 27, 2003
Filed:
Jun 15, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/882809
Inventors:
James K. Holdsworth - Brant Beach NJ 08008
Ramon Morell - East Brunswick NJ
Assignee:
James K. Holdsworth - Brant Beach NJ
International Classification:
B65D 21032
US Classification:
229164, 229172, 229178, 229179, 229918, 229919
Abstract:
A foldable container is formed from a single blank of sheet material which has stacking shoulders, reinforced corners side panels and display panels. The container includes a bottom section delimited by pairs of upright end panels and side panels. Two of the side panels are foldably connected to peripheral segments of the bottom section, pre-glued and cooperate with the latter to form an open top product-accommodating compartment. The top edges of each of the side panels include shoulders for supporting a container stacked thereon and positioning tabs that extend upwardly and fit into corresponding openings in the bottom of the upper container. The lateral edge of each end panel and adjacent side panel has foldably connected thereto a corner-reinforcing member and create shopping accessibility from the front of the container. The reinforcing member includes a first section connected to the end panel edge and being secured in partially overlying relation with the interior surface of the adjacent side panel. The reinforcing member also includes a second section connected to the first section and secured thereto in at least a partial foldback overlying relation with the first section.

V-Channel Packing Arrangements Particularly For Windshields

US Patent:
6769548, Aug 3, 2004
Filed:
Jul 12, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/193888
Inventors:
Ramon B. Morell - East Brunswick NJ
Brian Steiner - Bridgewater NJ
Assignee:
Pioneer Box Company, Inc. - Bridgewater NJ
International Classification:
B65D 8102
US Classification:
206586, 206454
Abstract:
A packing structure supports an article in a carton, especially a generally trapezoidal vehicle windshield, to be shipped in a corrugated craft carton. The article (possibly a windshield) is suspended by spacers, preferably made of integral die cut and folded blanks, that form resilient cradles along the elongated edge of the article. The carton can be rectilinear, having at each end two spaced side walls coupled by an end wall, generally forming an internal channel portion of the carton, with corners at junctions of the end wall and the side walls. A spacer is arranged to fit into this channel, so as to bear against the sidewalls and the end wall. The spacer defines an elongated substantially V-shaped fold between two V-wall panels. The edge of the article rests in a bottom of the V-shaped fold. The spacer also has two bearing legs that can be coextensive with the V-wall panels.

Bumper For Protecting Objects

US Patent:
5975303, Nov 2, 1999
Filed:
Jun 30, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/107266
Inventors:
Ramon B. Morell - East Brunswick NJ
International Classification:
B65D 8548, B65D 8102
US Classification:
206453
Abstract:
A paperboard bumper is made from a die cut blank. Material is provided for two outer layers and two intermediate layers, the four layers overlying each other when the blank is collapsed flat. A first fold line extends longitudinally across the blank, and defines a folding and unfolding axis that corresponds to an outside corner of the bumper when erected. A tab is secured to each of the intermediate layers adjacent to a void in the blank. When folded flat the tabs are glued together and the void is collapsed. The intermediate layers are glued to the outer layers at opposing surfaces and form first and second walls when the blank is erected. Transverse fold lines extend on the walls, one positioned to either side of the tabs. A hollow chamber is formed between the transverse fold lines, extending along the walls, when the device is erected by unfolding it along the first fold line. The transverse fold lines are spaced from each other by a distance equal to the width of the tabs, so that the tabs are received in the hollow chamber to lock the erected device in a stable position.
