The honors thesis, entitled "Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula: A Threat to Saudi Arabian Oil and the United States' Economy," explored the relationship between terrorism and the US economy. It identified ways in which the US could diminish al-Qaeda's influence on Yemeni people and restrict al-Qaeda's ability to conduct a large-scale attack on Saudi Arabian oil facilities. Professor Laura Reed (UMass Political Science Department) and Professor Michael Klare (Hampshire College Peace and World Security Studies) supervised the honors thesis.
