The Casey's completed and/or managed the purchase or sale of more than $800,000,000 of residential real estate throughout the Boston/Metro West area during their early twenty years as owners of Wilmot Whitney Real Estate, a successful Weston, MA real estate brokerage firm. On January 1, 2011, they sold their brokerage business to Gibson Sothebys International Realty and Barbara and Peter continue to list and sell homes as Associates of Gibson Sothebys.

Peter has had a long career as an entrepreneur, business executive and consultant; a trade association and community leader; and, a civic and charitable causes volunteer. With over forty-five years of experience, in three different industries. He is a licensed Massachusetts real estate Broker. Through Venture Management Associates, he consults with various small and medium sized businesses on operations, strategy, finance and general governance issues and has served on the Boards of many of these companies.

After graduation from St. John's University and the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, Peter was a practicing Public Accountant, a chief financial and chief executive office. He consulted with many venture capital financed companies for several years and, in 1991, formed Casey Properties, Inc. with Barbara and acquired Wilmot Whitney Real Estate.

Pete's interest in the industry, and in private property rights in general, led him to become very active in the industry's trade associations, including the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, where he chaired many Committees and was its Treasurer for three years. He served the Massachusetts Association of Realtors®, on several Committees, was Treasurer in 2000 and 2001, President Elect in 2002 and it's President in 2003. He continues as a Member of MAR's Board of Directors.

Casey also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Realtors® , Chaired its Business Issues and served on its Strategic Planning Committees. For his efforts, the Greater Boston Real Estate Board named him Realtor of the Year in 2002 and awarded him the Andrew F. Hickey Award for Distinguished Service in 1998. In 2003, he was inducted into the Omega Tau Rho Society of the National Association of Realtors® and in 2009, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® awarded him the prestigious Milton H. Shaw Distinguished Service Award.

Barbara, also a graduate of St. Johns University and the mother of our two children, was an elementary school teacher, a nearly full-time volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and a very active class and school mother in the Weston School system. After acquiring Wilmot Whitney Real Estate, Barbara assumed the role of office manager working directly with our associates and with many clients. She was involved in assisting agents on a day-to-day basis with listings and marketing, managed our advertising and contributed to negotiating contracts, preparing transaction paperwork and directly assisting our clients. She also provided direct buyer and seller services to clients who wished to work directly with her.

Both Peter and Barbara believe in and have continued to study as the industry has grown and changed and between them have earned many advanced designations of professional competence. Both have earned the GRI (graduate Realtor Institute) designation. Barbara has also earned the SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) designation and Peter the CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager) designation. Both are Realtor® members of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®.

The Casey’s are active volunteers in many civic, community and charitable causes.
