Philosophy:
Dr. Swarr's dual-board certification (Pediatrics and Internal Medicine) makes him uniquely qualified to care for every member of the family â from newborn to geriatric, with an emphasis on the treatment of a wide scope of complicated disease processes. With his background as a chief resident at Vanderbilt University and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt, Dr. Swarr is highly trained in preventive medicine and health. He has the ability to care for families in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings. There is no better way to appreciate the impact of illness on a family than to take care of the whole family. His training brings a unique insight and scope to the care of patients throughout their life span. Caring for multiple generations of the same family lends comprehension of family dynamics, and the impact of acute or chronic illness at all ages, all in the context of family systems.
