Peggy Sue operates from the assumption that clients possess innate health and that the therapeutic process can assist the client/ family members to re-discover and accept the strength and goodness that is already inside them. In many cases it is the negativity (negative view of self) that blocks the client from seeing the positive. This negativity can lead to a false identity of who we truly are.
