I am proud to be a physician at Georgia Health Sciences University. As one of the nation's leaders in Patient and Family Centered Care, our hospital and medical school (The Medical College of Georgia) is recognized nationwide. My patients will confirm that I believe in making your surgical and medical descisions WITH you, and not FOR you, as a team. I specialize in airway reconstruction, such as for patients who are tracheostomy dependent (have a breathing tube in thier neck), or who have severe tracheal or subglottic stenosis (narrowing of the windpipe). For these patients I try very hard to avoid an open (tracheal resection) procedure, and we are able to manage almost everyone endoscopically (through the mouth) using a combination of lasers, injected steroids, and controlled dilation balloons. If a descision for open surgery is made, again we make this descision as a team, with the patient and I being partners in care.
