Bubble Relief Form For Concrete

US Patent:
4702048, Oct 27, 1987
Filed:
Apr 6, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/597366
Inventors:
Paul Millman - New York NY
International Classification:
E04B 538
US Classification:
521695
Abstract:
A rigid, light-weight, thermoplastic bubble insulation form for cast in situ concrete slabs includes hemispherical void spaces for reduction of concrete volume and thermal insulation characteristics. An upper hemispheric surface provides an integral seating arrangement for wire mesh reinforcement. An under-surface of the form includes spacer nodules for facilitating drainage. The bubble relief form is water impervious for controlling curing of the concrete and further is supplied in modular units adapted for trimming and overlapping spliced connections.

Apparatus And Method For Cold Water Infusion Of Beverage And Sweetener

US Patent:
5318791, Jun 7, 1994
Filed:
Jan 6, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/001565
Inventors:
Paul Millman - New York NY
Mark Schwartz - Orchard Lake MI
International Classification:
A47J 3100
US Classification:
426431
Abstract:
A cold water infusion apparatus and method for brewing iced tea and similar beverages includes a vessel, having a removable lid, for containing the water and a tabular guideway supported from the lid and extending into the water. A string having an infusion pouch at one end and a tag at the other end is selectively engaged in the guideway. A lower edge of the guideway retains the pouch in a submerged position within the water. A dispenser attached to the guideway, is fillable with a granulated sweetener, and is simultaneously submergable with the pouch for dissolving the sweetener in the water.

Decoction Apparatus And Method

US Patent:
5678472, Oct 21, 1997
Filed:
Mar 20, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/618584
Inventors:
Paul Millman - New York NY
International Classification:
A47J 3100
US Classification:
99279
Abstract:
A brewer and serving carafe for cold water infusion of string suspended tea bags. A frusto-conical diffuser member placed within the carafe includes a tea bag retainer at a lower end adapted for compensating adjustment of the length of the tea bag string to ensure liquid submergence during the brewing procedure. A reservoir at an upper end of the diffuser member simultaneously provides for the selective introduction of flavor enhancing agents and/or taste modifiers that gradually enter into solution.

Remote Controlled Faucet

US Patent:
5226629, Jul 13, 1993
Filed:
May 19, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/885460
Inventors:
Paul Millman - New York NY
Mark Schwartz - Orchard Lake MI
International Classification:
F16K 3104, E03C 105
US Classification:
25112904
Abstract:
A remote controlled faucet has a valve assembly attachable to a nozzle of the faucet. The valve assembly includes a battery-powered motor-driven valve member and a radio receiving unit for actuating the motor in response to signals received from a remote sending unit. The sending unit is operated by the action of the user's foot for providing "hands-free" control of the faucet. In an alternate embodiment, the valve assembly is used to remotely control an independent hot and cold water faucet supply line to regulate water temperature and pressure.

Method And System For Calibrating An Optical Density Measurement Apparatus

US Patent:
5416575, May 16, 1995
Filed:
Nov 3, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/970913
Inventors:
Mark Schwartz - Orchard Lake MI
Paul Millman - New York NY
International Classification:
G01J 102
US Classification:
356243
Abstract:
A method and system for calibrating an optical density measurement apparatus includes a graphic display module that can be modulated under control of a microcomputer. The module is preferably a matrix-array type liquid crystal display wherein individual pixels may be selectively turned on or off to achieve a desired time course of transmittance changes in order to emulate the clot signature of a standard solution. Preferably the graphic LCD module includes a portion which provides a user interface during a calibration run.
