Philosophy:
My name is Patrick Zietz and I am a partner in West Michigan Orthopaedics in Grand Rapids, MI. I completed my Orthopaedic Surgical Residency in Grand Rapids, MI, where I gained extensive experience in all types of Orthopaedic Surgery. Upon completing my residency I pursued a post-residency fellowship in Sports Medicine in Miami, FL. During this year I had the privilege of assisting in the orthopaedic care of the NBA's Miami Heat basketball team. In addition I learned advanced techniques for treatment of all types of sports-related injuries. Currently I see a mix of patients with both general orthopaedic and sports medicine related problems.
My top priority is to reduce your pain and improve your function in order to return you to an active lifestyle. I strongly believe it is important to educate patients so that they can be involved in the treatment process. I will take as much time as is necessary at each appointment in order to meet these goals. I do not work with a PA which means you will see your doctor at every appointment. In addition, I have only one partner in my practice and this allows us to provide quality personalized care in a smaller office setting.
I have had the pleasure of treating patients of all activity levels including professional athletes, weekend warriors, and those who are less active. I emphasize non-operative treatment when indicated and reserve surgery as a last resort. Most importantly, I will always put the patient's best interest above anything else. I look forward to working with you to treat your orthopaedic problems.
