Abstract:
Delivery systems and methods of creating an accessory maxillary ostium and implanting a ventilation tube for purposes of ventilation, irrigation, infusion or procedural work are described. The delivery systems include an introducer and an associated ventilation tube. An irrigation and/or infusion catheter may be advanced through the ventilation tube in order to irrigate or express the contents of the sinus cavities. A secondary irrigation and/or infusion catheter or a balloon catheter may be advanced through an outer irrigation and/or infusion catheter, deeply into the sinus cavity, in order to irrigate or express the contents of the sinus cavities. Moreover, the balloon catheter may alternatively or additionally be employed to for dilation of the natural ostium. Still further, a device for delivering drugs, fluids or the like, may be coupled to the ventilation tube for delivery of same.

A medical imaging recording and viewing system adapted for use interchangably with a variety of endoscopes. The system includes a portable hand-held device that may be removably placed within a cradle affixed to the endoscope. An interface between an image acquisition device of the endoscope and the portable device permits images to be transmitted to and stored within the portable device. A unified imaging platform is disclosed. The unified imaging platform can be adapted for use with a variety of medical imaging devices. The unified medical imaging platform can include a display, a processor, a data storage device and one or more external interfaces. The unified imaging platform can be removably coupled to a medical imaging device such as an endoscope. The unified imaging platform can be coupled to the medical imaging device via a wired or wireless link. Using web services, the unified imaging platform can also transfer image data to other devices including a local desktop computer system, a mobile device and/or a remote system. Also disclosed is a medical imaging system including a router module wirelessly transmitting image data to a tablet PC or other distinct display device. The tablet PC may communicate corresponding image data to another tablet PC via a wireless telephone network.
