5092840, Mar 3, 1992
Filed:
Jul 16, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/552775
Inventors:
Patrick M. Healy - Wichita KS
International Classification:
A61M 3700
US Classification:
604 83
Abstract:
A valved medication container for use in a needleless medication transfer system. Water Slide With Cushioning

US Patent:
6312341, Nov 6, 2001
Filed:
Mar 15, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/525416
Inventors:
Patrick M. Healy - Wichita KS
International Classification:
A63G 2118
US Classification:
472117
Abstract:
A personal water slide has a first series of tubes which cushion the impact of a user launching her/himself onto the extended plastic surface. A second series of tubes each having a diameter at least twice the diameter of the tubes in the first series are positioned along the lateral periphery and help reduce the tendency to slip off the sides of the water slide. An optional third series of tubes permit a hose to be connected thereto and pin hole openings in these tubes form an arched spray which wets the surface of the slide. A flap may extend from each end of the extended plastic surface to permit attachment of two lengths of water slide and attachment of various accessories.

Valved Medication Container

US Patent:
5425465, Jun 20, 1995
Filed:
Mar 3, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/025990
Inventors:
Patrick M. Healy - Wichita KS
International Classification:
B65D 3900
US Classification:
215355
Abstract:
A valved medication container for facilitating needleless transfer of medication from the container to a patient. Four embodiments of valve members are disclosed. The first embodiment employs a slidable actuator which is engaged by the nose portion of a syringe and deflected into the container through a slit elastomeric membrane. A second embodiment employs a duckbill which the nose of the syringe biases to an open position. The third embodiment uses axially opposed flapper valves which the nose of the syringe pushes open. The fourth embodiment employs a slidable actuator with a T-shaped passageway which is moved to the open position by the syringe. A vent having a one-way valve for influx of air is provided for larger containers.

Valve Mechanism

US Patent:
5584808, Dec 17, 1996
Filed:
Jun 20, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/492835
Inventors:
Patrick M. Healy - Wichita KS
International Classification:
A61M 500
US Classification:
604 86
Abstract:
A valve which can be used to facilitate needleless transfer of medication from the container to a patient. A slidable actuator is engaged by the nozzle portion of a syringe and the tapered lead portion of the slide is forced into the container through a pre-slit elastomeric membrane. The membrane is relatively thick, preferably between 25 and 75% the width dimension of the membrane and, more preferably, between 40 and 50% of that dimension. The thick membrane is durable enough to withstand repeated usage and damage resistant enough to permit use with needled syringes.
