Drug Alluding Dental Implant

US Patent:
2012020, Aug 16, 2012
Filed:
Feb 10, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/025028
Inventors:
Pankaj P. Singh - Brookville NY, US
International Classification:
A61C 8/00
US Classification:
433173
Abstract:
A dental implant has an implant body that releases drug(s) to the patient. In some embodiments, the dental implant body may be coated with drugs, such as anti-inflammatory drugs and/or anti-infective/antibiotic drugs. The drugs may be formulated in a time released or extended released formulation so as to deliver the drugs over an extended period of time. The drugs may be formulated to not only slowly deliver the drug substance, but to also provide a drug substance that may be delivered locally, with minimal systemic drug perfusion. The drug alluding implants of the present invention may help reduce or eliminated complications related to dental implant surgery.

Apparatus And Method For Treatment Of Sleep Apnea And Snoring

US Patent:
2012018, Jul 26, 2012
Filed:
Jan 26, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/014646
Inventors:
Pankaj P. Singh - Brookville NY, US
International Classification:
A61F 5/56, A61C 9/00
US Classification:
128848, 433214
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for treating snoring and sleep apnea may include an oral appliance based on an extensive, three-dimensional radiological and clinical examination. The oral appliance may position the patient's lower jaw to a position that may prevent or eliminate sleep apnea. Several parameters, often over 40 parameters, may be examined to determine the proper placement and orientation of the jaw, via the oral appliance. The oral appliance may have a soft insert on the inside for cushioning the patient's teeth while the outside of the oral appliance may be hard, so as to maintain airflow through the oral appliance. The oral appliance may be a “full coverage” piece, fitting over 70 percent, typically over 80 percent, of the patient's teeth.

Guided Pin System Trephine Drill

US Patent:
2012004, Feb 23, 2012
Filed:
Aug 20, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/860830
Inventors:
PANKAJ PAL SINGH - Brookville NY, US
International Classification:
A61C 3/02
US Classification:
433 76
Abstract:
A guided pin system (GPS) trephine drill may be used for the placement of a dental implant while simultaneously collecting a substantial volume of autogenous bone that otherwise would have been discarded off during the current method of sequentially enlarging diameter spade drills. A method for preparing a dental implant site may include drilling the site with a pilot drill to a depth about 1 mm deeper than the intended length, in the axial direction, of the implant. The GPS trephine drill may be advanced along a straight axial path created by the pilot drill to a final depth determined by the bottoming out of a protruding pin on the trephine drill.
