Philosophy:
As a former collegiate athlete, Dr. Drew can recall having a major injury and having serious anxiety about his future. His concerns were the same concerns of every other patient which included: 1. What type of surgery? 2. What are the results for this surgery? 3. Do I have a good prognosis? These concerns and anxiety are not only encountered with injured athletes but also patients with typical joint pain, arthritis, and other common bone and joint problems. He relates that collegiate athletic experience with his patients and can sympathize with his patients. For that reason, his philosophy incorporates full explanation of expectations of his patients conditions and including his patients in the decision making process. He thinks this is pivotal in building a strong and trustworthy patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Drew is ACGME accredited fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic/Minimally invasive surgery. Also he is trained in all other joint conditions.
