Abstract:
Present invention discloses a dispenser having means to dispense desired number of pills from a bulk supply of pills contained in the dispenser. The dispenser comprises of storage compartment having bulk supply of pills and having a discharge port emptying into counting compartment. The counting compartment contains first and second conveyors moving at first and second speed; wherein the second speed is greater than the first speed thereby enabling pill separation; the second conveyor discharges pills into dispensing compartment. Sensors are strategically placed along the conveyors to count pills discharged into dispensing compartment. A pill recovery system and apparatus is disposed inside the dispenser having means to recover pills remaining on conveyors upon completion of a dispensation cycle and deposit recovered pills back into the storage compartment for use in future dispensation cycles. A docking station having receptacles to accommodate dispenser is provided. Docking station has communication ports enabling two-way communication with personal computer. The present invention also relates to a method of determining medication-medication interaction. Furthermore, the present, invention relates to a method of determining medication side effect as being causative of a patient's clinical symptoms.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an endoscope, more specifically to an endoscope that provides both forward view and rear view of a hollow body organ. It comprises of a rear view module that contains a rear image lens and a rear illumination bulb. The rear view module is designed and is attached to a conventional endoscope in a way that when deployed, the rear image lens and the rear illumination bulb face backward. In this position, the rear image lens provides a rear view and the rear illumination bulb illuminates the area under view of the rear image lens. The present invention enables the operator to obtain forward and rear views of a hollow organ either separately or simultaneously. The ability to obtain forward and rear view at the same time enables the operator to perform a complete examination of a hollow organ that includes both forward and rear view in a single insertion.The present invention enables surgical procedures to be performed in areas that are otherwise inaccessible and out of view of conventional endoscopes. This is made possible by a rear instrument channel located proximal to the rear view module. The present invention also improves distension and visualization of a hollow internal organ by having a rear air/water channel also located proximal to the rear view module. The present invention widens the field of vision of conventional endoscopes by enabling the addition of more than one forward image lens and more than one forward illumination bulb.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to endoscope system having means to provide simultaneous forward and rear views of a hollow organ. It comprises of first image assembly comprising of forward image lens and forward illumination source disposed at distal end of the endoscope and; second image assembly comprising of rear image lens and rear illumination source disposed on rear view module operatively engaged with the endoscope. Upon deployment of rear view module, rear image lens and rear illumination source face backwards with respect to the endoscope; and in some embodiments of the invention; face towards forward image lens and illumination source disposed at the distal end of the endoscope. According one aspect of the invention, means is provided to prevent interference between the forward image lens of the endoscope and rear illumination source of the rear view module; and between rear image lens of the rear view module and forward illumination source of the endoscope.
