Problem: Newly acquired trench shoring equipment was a shiny aluminum finish. During night time pipeline welding activities, the mirror-like walls reflected the intense light back into the eyes of the welder.
Solution: Etch and paint the walls of the shoring box to a non-reflective surface to mitigate eye damaging glares.
Problem: 90lb. jack hammers were repeatedly hoisted in and out of a box located on the tongue of portable air compressors.
Solution: Remove the box and fabricate a box tubing receiver at waste level where the jack hammer could be lifted out with the legs at low levels and dropped into the receiver with minimal effort, reducing back injuries and strains.
