Philosophy:
Following completion of his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Hussain joined MGA in August 2005. The fellowship training included specialized training in general digestive disorders, nutrition, obesity, inflammatory bowel disorders, and rare gastrointestinal syndromes.
Dr. Hussain was born in Washington D.C. He graduated from the Scholars program at Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Medical Degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1994.
He completed a surgical internship in the Wright State Surgical Program in Dayton, Ohio. Following this he spent several years in the United States Air Force providing medical care to members and veterans of the military in Ohio, Texas, and Washington DC. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC prior to entering fellowship training at Georgetown University.
He is currently a member of the medical staff of Middlesex Hospital, American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Hussain has recently published several articles in inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and inherited gastrointestinal disorders. Along with general gastroenterology, his areas of special interest are liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, nutrition, and small bowel capsule endoscopy.
