As a Marriage and Family Therapist I believe that we become distressed or stressed because of our thinking in the moment. Negative thoughts creates negative feelings which creates a negative reaction. Positive thoughts creates positive feelings which creates a positive response. The main focus is the power of thought when one becomes aware that we are the thinker of our thoughts and the producer of our own reality we can learn how to live from the "inside out" instead of "outside in".
