Mike Kwiecien is a devoted husband to his wife of 16 years, and father to their three children. A true outdoorsman Mike enjoys surfing, fishing, and making wine from his vineyard located just outside Bethany Beach. As an active member of his Church and community, Mike takes time to mentor whenever possible. Much of that mentoring has been done on the football field through coaching. As a Semi-Pro football player, Mike won a Mason-Dixon Football-League Championship with the NJ Broncos in 2000 the Broncos finished the year undefeated (15-0) ranked 4th in the nation out of over 760 teams.<br /><br />In the US Army Mike got his start in combat arms as a crewmember on a Bradley Stinger Fighting Vehicle. As an enlisted soldier he distinguished himself by winning 4-3 ADA Soldier of the Quarter and taking runner-up as 1st Infantry Division Soldier of the Quarter. In addition, he finished as the second best heavyweight boxer in the 1ID with a record of 7 wins and 1 loss. After being promoted to sergeant Mike accepted a job working at 1ID HQ for some to the nation’s most respected Generals. He completed a deployment with HQ in support of Task Force Falcon to Kosovo, Yugoslavia.<br /><br />However, anyone who knows Mike, knows his passion is Real Estate. With a Master’s Degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Rowan University, he takes an academic approach to his trade. Currently he is making plans to complete a PhD in Sociology to formalize his research in this industry. Having worked in new home construction and remodeling for over twelve years, with every size builder from; pick –up truck (small builder), mid-size, regional builder (Carl M. Freeman Communities), to the large national builder (Ryan Homes), to owning and operating his own custom home building company (Explorer Homes Inc.) Mike knows the local new home marketplace as well as anyone. Properties Mike sold and built have been certified “Green” by the NAHB and been featured on the Beach and Bay Cottage Tour.
