Electroactive Surface-Confinable Molecules

US Patent:
2011025, Oct 13, 2011
Filed:
Jun 20, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/164712
Inventors:
Cynthia C. BAMDAD - Boston MA, US
Shoshana Bamdad Shendelman - New York NY, US
Michael Frid - Medford MA, US
International Classification:
G01N 33/543, C07F 17/02
US Classification:
435 72, 556144, 436518
Abstract:
The invention provides compositions, kits, methods, and species that include electroactive entities which can serve as signaling entities in chemical and/or biochemical assays. The electroactive species can be metallocenes, such as ferrocenes, including substituents that affect the oxidation/reduction potential (redox potential) of the species. By controlling the redox potential of the species, multiple species can be used in a single assay, each species having a different redox potential, for simultaneous signaling of different binding events. Additionally, species having redox potentials lower than 490 mV can be provided, allowing signaling within a potential range easily detectable in the presence of biological fluids.

Mixed Aminal Pharmaceutical Compositions And Uses Thereof

US Patent:
2012029, Nov 22, 2012
Filed:
Jan 21, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/574105
Inventors:
Michael Frid - Medford MA, US
Kristina M. Hugar - Ithaca NY, US
International Classification:
A61K 31/4706, A61P 19/08
US Classification:
514311
Abstract:
Described herein are pharmaceutical compositions for the administration of one or more mixed aminals, as defined herein, including salubrinal and analogs and derivatives of salubrinal, and methods for treating diseases or disorders arising from apoptosis, particularly for treating diseases or disorders arising from integrated stress response-induced apoptosis, such as occurs in bone diseases, injuries, and defects.

Speed Control System For Vehicles

US Patent:
2005010, May 19, 2005
Filed:
Nov 14, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/712283
Inventors:
Michael Frid - Medford MA, US
Vili Korn - Mountainside NJ, US
International Classification:
G05G001/14
US Classification:
074562000
Abstract:
A speed control system for a vehicle has a pedal displaceable by a foot of a user's leg so as to influence a corresponding action applied to a vehicle engine and thereby to increase and to reduce a vehicle speed, and an additional pedal which is spaced on the first mentioned and operatively connected with such first mentioned pedal, so that when one of the pedals is acted upon by the user's foot, the other of the pedals is also displaced substantially syncronomously, one of the pedals being located in an area reachable by the foot of the user's right leg, while the other pedal being located in an area reachable by the foot of a left leg of the user, and an operative connection of the two pedals with one another so as to provide their substantially syncronous movement.
