My psychotherapy practice integrates a clinical approach, concerned with alleviating pain and suffering, with a "Life-Span Developmental" approach, concerned with realizing the opportunities for a fuller, more engaged and satisfying life that encountering psychological challenges occurring throughout life may offer. While drawing on various therapeutic approaches depending on my clients' individual concerns and preferences, my priority is developing collaborative relationships with clients within which we can together name challenges faced and discover how I can help most in addressing the challenges. I would describe my approach as relationship-centered and growth-oriented, rather than wedded to specific theories and techniques. Not tying "specialty" to specific issues, I work with all adults and adolescents on any concerns they bring. Experience includes 27 years private practice & 20 years' counseling graduate and undergraduate students at Harvard University.
