Appl. No.:
7/347724
Inventors:
Michael A. Stang - Pikesville MD
International Classification:
G02C 900
US Classification:
351 47
Abstract:
A flexible optical filter storage system (10, 100) is provided for depolyment as sunglasses. Systems (10 and 100) include a flexible filter member (40) reversibly extendible from within a unitary housing (30). Flexible filter member (40) is a one-piece singular member being concurrently displaceable over and retractable from both lenses (24) of eyeglasses (20), or in an alternate embodiment, concurrently displaceable over both eyes of the user. The housing (30) contains a roller member (52) rotatably mounted therein for storage of the flexible filter member (40). Also provided within housing (30) is an extension/retraction assembly (50) coupled to roller member (52). In the alternate embodiment, storage system (100) includes bridge support assembly (170) hingedly coupled to housing (30) and extendible therefrom for supporting housing (30) above a user's nose. On opposing ends of housing (130) there is provided ear supports (142) pivotally coupled within an elongated recess (131) for storage of ear supports (142) therein.

Abstract:
This invention pertains to a food tray and bib system (10) which is adapted to be removably coupled to the neck (16) of a user's body (18). The food tray and bib system (10) includes a flexibly collapsible housing and bib assembly (20) having a deformable cavity (30) for receipt of a tray assembly (40). Housing and bib assembly (20) includes a rear wall (22) having a lower portion (21) defining a rear wall of the deformable cavity (30), and an upper portion (23) extending longitudinally from deformable cavity (30) a predetermined distance to define a bib-like structure. Upper portion (23) of rear wall (22) includes an arcuate cut-out portion (33) whose perimeter is defined by a pair of strap members (34) of alternately a through opening (32) may be provided for releasable coupling to the neck (16) of the user's body (18). The forward portion of deformable cavity (30) is structurally supported by an angular portion (28) integrally formed in each side wall (26) extending from an upper portion of rear wall (22) to a forward perimeter portion of deformable cavity (30). Tray assembly (40) is formed in a parallelepiped contour and includes a plurality of corner posts (46) for establishing the contour of deformable cavity (30), subsequent to insertion of tray assembly (40) therein.

Cup Attachment System

US Patent:
4858869, Aug 22, 1989
Filed:
Sep 20, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/246781
Inventors:
Michael A. Stang - Pikesville MD
International Classification:
A47K 108
US Classification:
2483112
Abstract:
A releasable cup attachment system (100, 200) is provided for releasably mounting a cup to a base surface. The cup attachment system (100, 200) includes an insertion member (100, 210) fixedly coupled to an external surface portion of the cup (10), and a mounting receptacle (120, 220) having an open cavity (130, 230) for releasable coupling to the insertion member (110, 210) within the open cavity. In one embodiment, the open cavity (130) is defined between a rear wall (122) and front wall portions (124), and a pair of recessed angled end walls (126). The insertion member (110) is provided with an angular portion (114) having diverging sides (116 and 118) for capture within the open cavity (130). In an alternate embodiment, the tubular shaped insertion member (210) is provided with an axial cavity (214) for receipt of a guide member (222) extending from within the open cavity (230) of the mounting receptacle (220). The mounting receptacle (120, 220) is secured to a base surface by a double coated pressure sensitive tape (150) for fixation thereto, or coupling to a mounting hook (140) to provide releasable coupling to the base surface.

Method Of Forming Decontaminant Food Product

US Patent:
6294189, Sep 25, 2001
Filed:
Apr 24, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/065531
Inventors:
Michael A. Stang - Pikesville MD
Dudley A. Demarest - Catonsville MD
Assignee:
De Novo, Inc. - Pikesville MD
International Classification:
A61K 928, A61K 968, A61K 4700
US Classification:
424441
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an antidotal food product containing activated charcoal is provided to combine a binder, a filler composition, water, flavoring and sweetener compositions with an activated charcoal to form wafers having a consistency emulating that of a baked cookie. The activated charcoal (110), binder (112), filler (114), water (116), and flavoring and sweetener compositions (118) are combined in a mixer (210) to form a slurry. The slurry is then processed in a spray dryer (220) to form granules. The granules are combined with a lubricant (122) in a blender (230). The dry mixture from blender (230) is then formed into wafers by a tableting type machine in a compression molding step (240). The wafers formed in the compression molding step (240) are then coated in an anti-dusting coating step (250). A sweet creme filling is applied between pairs of the wafers in a cookie sandwich assembly step (270).
