Apr 30, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/433471
Inventors:
Robert Emmons Haskell - Chester Springs PA, US
Carmela Anne Couderc - West Chester PA, US
Susan Annette Matney - Woods Cross UT, US
Mary Ellen Dlugos - King of Prussia PA, US
Rebecca Rae DaDamio - Sinking Spring PA, US
Assignee:
Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. - Malvern PA
International Classification:
G06Q 50/00, G06Q 99/00
US Classification:
705 3, 705 2, 705 10
Abstract:
A processing device implemented system supports providing a plan of care for a patient. A repository includes data representing a plurality of different patient problems and including data representing an individual plan of care, indicating care to be provided to a specific patient, associated with a patient problem, an expected outcome, clinical observations, and orders for treatment to be administered to a patient. A data processor searches data in the repository to identify one or more candidate plans of care associated with a particular patient problem in response to user entry of data identifying the particular patient problem by searching data in the repository for a code associated with the particular patient problem. A display processor generates data representing at least one display image including data representing the one or more candidate plans of care associated with the particular patient problem enabling a user to select a particular plan of care for a particular patient.

Patient Problem Data Structure And Processing System

US Patent:
8145506, Mar 27, 2012
Filed:
Apr 30, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/433500
Inventors:
Robert Emmons Haskell - Chester Springs PA, US
Susan Annette Matney - Woods Cross UT, US
Carmela Anne Couderc - West Chester PA, US
Mary Ellen Dlugos - King of Prussia PA, US
Rebecca Rae DaDamio - Sinking Spring PA, US
Assignee:
Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. - Malvern PA
International Classification:
G06Q 50/00
US Classification:
705 3, 705 2
Abstract:
A patient problem data system stores data representing a plurality of different patient problems for use in providing healthcare to a patient. An acquisition processor acquires data representing a patient problem for storage in a repository. A repository, electrically coupled to the acquisition processor, includes data representing a plurality of different patient problems; an individual patient problem has a patient problem name and is characterized by patient problem attributes; an individual patient problem has a plurality of attribute properties determining how a patient problem attribute is represented. Patient problem attributes include a focus term indicating a topic of a patient problem, a patient problem likelihood term indicating an assessment of likelihood of the associated corresponding patient problem, and a client term indicating at least one target person for care. The attribute properties include a format attribute property indicating a format constraint of a patient problem attribute and a content attribute property indicating a content constraint of a patient problem attribute. A retrieval processor, electrically coupled to the repository, retrieves data representing at least one patient problem from the repository.

Graphical Medical Data Acquisition System

US Patent:
2006017, Aug 3, 2006
Filed:
Jul 13, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/180453
Inventors:
Scott Cantlin - Perkiomenville PA, US
Kathleen Evans - Wynnewood PA, US
Robert Lukens - New London PA, US
Mary Dlugos - King of Prussia PA, US
Daniel Lee - Plymouth Meeting PA, US
Helen Thomer - Phoenixville PA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707010000
Abstract:
A graphical documentation system allows clinicians to record information about specific zones of an anatomical image in a fast, intuitive, and easy to understand manner. A graphical user interface system supporting recording of patient medical and other data, includes a display processor for initiating display of data representing a display image. The display image includes, a first area presenting a graphical anatomical image retrieved from a repository, the graphical anatomical image identifies at least one anatomical zone and a second area presents a form associated with a zone selected via user interaction with the identified graphical anatomical image zone. A repository associates a particular form of a particular patient with a corresponding zone identified in the displayed graphical anatomical image. A data processor uses the repository and receives data entered by a user via a displayed form and stores the entered data in a patient medical record of the particular patient.

Automatic Patient Healthcare And Treatment Outcome Monitoring System

US Patent:
2007017, Jul 26, 2007
Filed:
Aug 29, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/468012
Inventors:
Mary Dlugos - King of Prussia PA, US
Jean Grigsby - Downingtown PA, US
Assignee:
SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS HEALTH SERVICES CORPORATION - Malvern PA
International Classification:
A61B 5/00
US Classification:
600300, 128923
Abstract:
A system generates criteria associating subjective narrative text describing a treatment outcome with acquired patient medical data and linking a narrative treatment outcome description to documented data during patient assessment documentation. A patient healthcare monitoring system includes an acquisition processor for automatically acquiring data representing outcomes of multiple corresponding assessments of medical condition of a patient. A data processor automatically evaluates a logical expression comprising a logical combination of the multiple corresponding assessments to provide an overall outcome representative result and compares the overall outcome representative result with a predetermined treatment objective of the patient to provide a result indicative of whether the treatment objective is met. A documentation processor updates a record of the patient to indicate the objective is met.
