Abstract:
The generator () includes an essentially cylindrical stator assembly () defining a central turbine void () in which a wind turbine () rotates to power an electrical generator (). The wind turbine () includes vanes () having a width () less than 25 percent of a diameter () of the turbine (). The turbine () defines an open void () between the vanes () for unrestricted passage of air through the wind turbine (). Non-planar stators (A-H) extend between a base and an upper truss () to strengthen the stator assembly () and to direct air exiting directional ducts (A-H) to move in a first rotational direction () within the turbine void (). A plurality of geodesic truss segments (A-H) form the base and upper trusses () to produce a strong, light-weight wind generator () that is easily assembled on-site.
