Philosophy:
The practice of Osteopathy was discovered in 1874 by a civil war surgeon, named Andrew Taylor Still, MD. Dr. Still understood that human beings are an expression of natural law, with an intimate relationship to universal life principles, and the ability to heal ourselves. Our physiology organizes around traumatic life events, with enough flexibility to continue the normal activities daily life. Human suffering results when we lose our physiologic flexibility. A single event, or series of events overwhelms our physiology, and disrupts its self restorative capacity. The intent of Osteopathy is restorative. Through a gentle hands-on manipulative treatment, innate therapeutic forces are supported, for the return of optimal health.
