Abstract:
A system and method for selectively collecting exhaled air. The system includes a sensor that can be configured for detecting a flow of exhaled air from a person. A control system can be responsive to the sensor . The control system can be configured for generating a gate signal when at least one characteristic of the flow of exhaled air satisfies one or more predetermined flow criteria. A valve responsive to the gate signal can be configured for selectively gating only a predetermined portion of the flow of exhaled air to an air sample chamber
