Interests:
As a writer, I have published 5 books. The first, a novel, "Caleb My Son" was a best seller in 1956. It earned me a Guggenheim fellowship, making me a 22-year-old highschool dropout hospitalized 5 years due to anorexia nervosa the youngest ever. When I, more than 20 years later, received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology and received psychoanalysis which helped me overcome the wirter's block that had followed publication of my Guggenheim project, "High On A Hill", I knew that I wanted to help others with creativity problems. As a result, besides working in my private practice as a clinical psychologist, when I was able to sell my small share of our family's newspaper at a fair price, I established the Lucy Daniels Foundation and the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood. For the past 20 years I have annually conducted for the LDF a seminar entitled, "Our Problems as the Roots of Our Power," for people devoted to creative interests with which they have to struggle at times.
