Skills Inventory: I am currently on a team whose primary software capability is PEGA PRPC. We are on version 6.2 Patch 2. I also have minimal experience with Message Broker and MQ. Team management is effected via Rational Team Concert. In the beginning of my career I wrote in mainframe Cobol, some assembler, JCL (Job Control Language), some EasyTrieve and EasyTrieve+ and then self-taught myself Visual Basic to work on the enterprise application to automate Group Re-Enrollment so that sales reps could quickly produce pre-filled out insurance election forms for existing group employees. Large Projects don't intimidate me. During the Y2K years I was remediating code written in Cobol and JCL and taught myself Microsoft Access in order to create the inventory database and executive reporting system. This system also allowed each developer to update the database on their individual progress of programs / objects assigned to them for remediation. After Y2K was done in 2000, I retrained to learn the Cobol used on a IBM Series i system (iSeries) and learned CL (Control Language) I helped to design and spec-out the integration files which would feed our new Workflow system in 2001. I've supported the workflow system from it's birth to it's death (when we retired the software, and integrated all of the interfaces 10 years later onto another workflow system - the retirement of the workflow was completed in 2013, a $6 million project. I have some FileNet skills. FileNet is our Enterprise solution for Document Repository. Documents are scanned and their images are stored in FileNet for retrieval later. We also store electronic images of all kinds and also report. I attended the FileNet Administrator Part 1 class in 2006 as I needed to be more learned of FileNet since we were about to update the software as part of a Workflow System I helped to design and develop and implement. I worked in the area of Workflow for about 7 or 8 years supporting the Workflow processing software written by a vendor, but highly customized for our specific needs. I took the Role of Technical Lead for all of those years during the building and support of workflow. By this time my Title has changed from Lead Programmer to System Applications Designer. I retained that Title for 11 years. SQL skills: I've never met a database I couldn't query. I enjoy writing sql to tease data out of a database system. Logical Thinking skills: I have Unix shell-script writing skills... I have gotten formal education for the basics and learn from books and the internet for the rest... my expertise was in writing housekeeping type scripts to keep our automated systems self-tidying up and self-archiving for future reference. Middle-think skills:The enterprise underwent several Re-organizations as times change and in 2008 I believe, I was re-orged into a group called the Solution Design Practice. Our group consisted of the System Architects, System Analysts and System Designers. I was the solitary woman in all of System Architecture and System Design groups. During this three year period I became a specialist in the design of out-sourcing or retiring old software systems and integrating them into new software systems. Design Skills: I thrive when colaborating with others in their fields of expertise to come up with possible solutions to business problems. I am good at facilitating brain storming sessions and being the person who can work with the programmers who do the coding and the architects who have the high-level vision and document a solid and understandable design blueprint that all can understand. Resiliant to change: Another re-org occurred and the Solution Design Practice was dissolved as was my title of Systems Applications Designer. I've switched back to a new title of Principal Developer. I have moved to a new team who codes in a software system called Pega PRPC. Pega is a 5th generation software writing system. I am not very good at it, but get a little better each day. I did two weeks of PEGA PRPC training in Boston in 2012, and as soon as I got back, I got assigned to the project to retire our original Workflow system and design all the integrations into a new workflow system. Since I has grown and supported the system for so long and knew it so well, and this was my primary expertise, I was the Defacto System Designer and Technical Lead and Subject Matter expert for the entirety of the project which lasted 1.5 years. Gaining Object-Oriented development skills. I've been back on the Pega Team since about December, 2013 and have been working on small projects in Pega PRPC ever since.
