I practice evidence based medicine with all my patients. I order only the tests I need that will lead me to the best possible treatment of each patient. Sometimes this means disagreeing with some medical “fads”. If I cannot find the academic research to support certain medical treatments, I will not prescribe the treatment. Instead, I prefer to educate my patients and inform them of their options for treatment that have proven to have the best effect for whatever their condition may be.
