Hammer Mill With Improved Cover Liner Assembly

US Patent:
5655720, Aug 12, 1997
Filed:
May 8, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/438078
Inventors:
Larry M. Hixon - Pittstown NJ
Ching-Chung Huang - Summit NJ
Assignee:
Hosokawa Micron International Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
B02C 1306
US Classification:
2411891
Abstract:
A hammer mill for reducing the size of particles has a generally cylindrical chamber with first and second side walls, cylindrical lower wall portion and an upper wall portion. Plural hammers extend radially from a cylindrical rotatable body mounted in the chamber coaxially therewith. The upper wall portion is divided into a first cylindrical section and a second suction inducing section between the first cylindrical section and a particle inlet. A liner having particle deflectors is slidingly mounted on the first cylindrical section in grooves formed between the upper edges of plates attached to the sidewalls of the chamber and the first cylindrical section of the upper wall portion. A plate liner is positioned at the interior of the second section on angled straight line edges of the sidewall plates to provide a space for suctioning particles from the particle inlet.

Wheelset To Side Frame Interconnection For A Railway Car Truck

US Patent:
2014006, Mar 6, 2014
Filed:
Aug 31, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/600693
Inventors:
Thomas R. Berg - St. Louis MO, US
George Currier - Piscataway NJ, US
Larry Hixon - Pittstown NJ, US
Kevin McGarvey - Piscataway NJ, US
Jason Reiling - Hillsborough NJ, US
Assignee:
STRATO, INC. - Piscataway NJ
International Classification:
B61F 15/12
US Classification:
1052181
Abstract:
The invention relates to a railway car truck incorporating a novel interconnection between the side frame and bearing adapter characterized by a low lateral spring constant relative to the longitudinal spring constant. The interconnection provides a proportional restoring force with minimal internal friction and hysteresis. In embodiments, the interconnection comprises compressed elastomeric members positioned between the thrust lug of the side frame and the bearing adapter in the longitudinal direction and a low friction interface between the roof of the pedestal jaw and the top of the bearing adapter.

Pulverizing And Grinding Hammer

US Patent:
5465912, Nov 14, 1995
Filed:
Mar 11, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/212590
Inventors:
James B. Graybill - Berkeley Heights NJ
Larry M. Hixon - Pittstown NJ
Ching-Chung Huang - Summit NJ
Assignee:
Hosokawa Micron International Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
B02C 1304, B02C 1328
US Classification:
241 27
Abstract:
An improved pulverizing and grinding hammer and methods of making and using such a hammer in a hammer mill are disclosed. The improved hammer has a substantially trapezoidal insert made of a hard metal such as STELLITE 12 that is brazed onto a groove in a conventional hammer to form a contact face having an approximately ten degree layback angle with the vertical. The improved hammer provides a clear visible boundary between the insert material and base metal of the hammer, which acts as a wear indicator when the layback angle wears to approximately 40 to 50 degrees, the critical angle at which the size reduction efficiency of the mill decreases.

Trolley Hanger System

US Patent:
7631774, Dec 15, 2009
Filed:
Mar 12, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/684983
Inventors:
Michael Foxx - Hillsborough NJ, US
Larry Hixon - Pittstown NJ, US
Lin Hua - Jersey City NJ, US
Assignee:
Strato, Inc. - Piscataway NJ
International Classification:
B61G 5/06, F16L 3/00
US Classification:
213 76, 213 13, 248 53
Abstract:
A trolley hanger for supporting brake hose connections between rail cars which hangs securely on a trolley rod, and preferably is directly connected to an intermediate hose flange, a train line support casting flange, or trolley pipe flange, prevents lateral and rotational movement of a brake hose connection, thereby reducing unwanted brake hose uncoupling.
