Systems And Methods For Remote Viewing Of Patient Images

Systems And Methods For Remote Viewing Of Patient Images

US Patent:
7319540, Jan 15, 2008
Filed:
Sep 20, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/533703
Inventors:
Kishore Tipirneni - Glendale AZ, US
Assignee:
Stryker Corporation - Kalamazoo MI
International Classification:
G06K 15/00, G06F 15/16
US Classification:
358 115, 358 19, 711217, 711219
Abstract:
A digital camera containing patient images is connected to an uploader computer and the patient's name or history is entered into the uploader computer. The uploader computer then connects to the Internet, connects to the secure host server, uploads the images to the host server and shuts down the Internet connection. After the physician selects a medical facility and the system verifies the physician's user I. D. and password, the host server constructs an HTML web page which includes a list of patients whose images were previously uploaded by the medical facility and are available for viewing. The physician simply selects the name of a patient and the host server displays the patient information and images on the physician's computer. The system is password-protected at all levels and the operator for each medical facility determines who may have access to the medical facility images.

Inventors:
Kishore Tipirneni - Glendale AZ, US
Wayne Vassello - Lake Worth FL, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/86
US Classification:
606309
Abstract:
A bone screw comprising a sleeve and a shaft reciprocally received within the sleeve. The bone screw may be partially or fully extended prior to insertion into a bone by inserting a driver into a longitudinal opening in the sleeve to push the shaft out of the sleeve. The bone screw may be used in connection with a locking plate or other stabilization device. The sleeve of the bone screw may have a smooth distal end. The distal end may have a wider diameter than the main body of the sleeve so as to sit within a counter bore in the locking plate. A threaded set screw may be used to secure the bone screw within the locking plate.

Abstract:
A system and method for facilitating the fixation of bone fractures is disclosed. The anchor component includes a tip, cutting threads and mating threads which are inserted into the far cortex of the bone. A wire extends from the anchor component and exits from the near cortex. A cap device includes a tension spring, a ratcheting mechanism, a lever clutch, and/or at least one wedge, wherein the tension spring, ratcheting mechanism, lever clutch, and/or at least one wedge is configured to assert friction against the wire when the cap is translated in one direction, but minimal friction against the wire when the cap is translated in the opposite direction. The cap is threaded over the wire such that the cap is restricted from backwards movement.

Cannulated Bone Screw System And Method

Cannulated Bone Screw System And Method

US Patent:
2007026, Nov 8, 2007
Filed:
Apr 30, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/742457
Inventors:
Kishore Tipirneni - Glendale AZ, US
Assignee:
FXDEVICES, LLC - Boca Raton FL
International Classification:
A61B 17/58
US Classification:
606065000, 606073000
Abstract:
An improved bone screw is disclosed which includes a shaft with distal portion having a threaded surface thereon, a sleeve having an opening which receives the shaft such that the shaft is able to move within the sleeve without moving the sleeve. A compressive device may be incorporated between the sleeve and the proximal portion of the shaft such that the compressive device forces the shaft and sleeve towards each other, thereby maintaining the compressive load at the union of the fracture. As additional compression is exerted on the load from weight bearing, the force may be reduced, but the head of the sleeve is still substantially maintained against the lateral cortex.
