Dr. Khalid Puthawala treats patients with diseases of the respiratory tract and hospitalized patients with complex, sometimes life-threatening, critical illnesses. He has expertise in the diagnosis and management of disorders including asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, obstructive sleep apnea, sarcoidosis, occupational lung disease, pneumonia, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, and pulmonary fibrosis.
Dr. Puthawala practices at both Harford Memorial Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Dr. Khalid Puthawala earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. He served his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Medical Center and a Fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at New York University School of Medicine.
Active in professionals associations, Dr. Khalid Puthawala holds memberships in the American College of Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Puthawala is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital.
