As an orthopaedic surgeon, my primary goal is to get the patient back to a higher function and quality of life than they currently have. I consider surgery as a last resort when other non-operative treatments may be as effective. But when surgery is necessary, you can expect personalized care from the pre-operative period all the way to the end of the rehab process. I use minimally invasive techniques in many of my sports medicine and joint replacement procedures to also help speed recovery.
