Abstract:
A hysteroscope includes a base and a handle attached to the base. The handle has a first trigger and a second trigger. An outer barrel is attached to the base. The outer barrel has a plurality of channels. An actuatable tool is located within at least one channel. The first trigger is in communication with the actuatable tool for extending the tool from within the at least one channel. The second trigger in communication with the actuatable tool for actuating the tool. The hysteroscope may further include a third trigger to pivot a distal portion of the outer barrel.

In certain embodiments, the present invention provides a protective sterile drape for a Mayo surgical tray stand that has a self-disposing feature, the ability at the end of a surgical procedure to draw the drape around the disposable instrument tray, disposable instruments and disposable surgical waste and secure the drape and its contents with a provided closure device to produce a closed container suitable for disposal. In preferred embodiments, the drape further includes a disposable instrument tray, consumable supplies and disposable instruments that are selected for a specific procedure.

A fluid pump system and a method for pumping fluid into and out of an endoscopic surgical instrument are provided. Generally, the fluid pump system includes a housing, disposable inflow and outflow cartridges, and at least one fluid pump for pumping fluid into or out of fluid channels in an endoscopic surgical instrument. The fluid pump system is securably mountable directly on an endoscopic surgical instrument and a surface. Methods for pumping fluid into and out of an endoscopic surgical instrument include regulating fluid flow from a fluid cartridge to an endoscopic surgical instrument and fluid flow into a fluid cartridge from an endoscopic surgical instrument.
