Philosophy:
Katelyn S. Varhely, Psy.D is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in children, adolescents and families. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois and has been working with families on Chicago's Northshore, and surrounding areas, for several years. Dr. Varhely is a trained Play Therapist in the process of becoming RPT (Registered Play Therapist.) Although her training emphasized an Adlerian approach to therapy, she has a broad range of experience with many therapeutic modalities and is able to tailor her practice to the needs of you or your family. When working with children and adolescents, Dr. Varhely feels it is vital to work within the entire structure that the child or adolescent exists. This means often doing family consultation, meeting with teachers, attending school meetings, and/or coaching the caregivers on ways to act as the "therapeutic partners."
