Diagnostic Laboratory: Extensive experience in a clinical pathology laboratory. Administrative skills include accessioning of specimens, troubleshooting routine problems, strong interactions with clinicians, pathologists, and laboratory staff, data entry. Technical experience with hematology, clinical chemistry and cytology. Animal Models: Extensive veterinary medical and surgical knowledge encompassing both small and large animal species from veterinary curriculum and technical jobs. Rodent expertise including breeding colony management and utilization of multiple genetic models, genotyping, injections, intubation, anesthesia, bleeding, surgical experience with expertise in pneumonectomy and physiological measurement of lung function. Molecular Techniques: Immunohistochemistry, fluorescence and deconvolution microscopy, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry (BD FACS Calibur, Dako MoFlo, LSR IV, FACS Aria), western blotting, genotyping, PCR, multiple staining procedures and use of genetic 2 models, hematology both automated and microscopic, clinical chemistry and cytology. Cell Culture: Expertise in many areas of cell culture including isolation and culture of multiple cell types from primary sources: stem cells both embryonic and tissue-derived and progenitor cells. Experience with transfection and transplantation of cultured cells. Computer Software: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SPSS statistics, SigmaScan, Zeiss microscopy, SPOT microscopy, FACS analyzer, Buxco and Flexivent pulmonary function testing systems software, EndNote, MetaMorph software. Organization: Practical and efficient organization of workplace and work flow, with an emphasis on collaborative style integrated with an ability to work independently to accomplish targeted goals in a high quality, rapid manner. Communication: Participation in IACUC meetings, departmental seminars, pathology rounds and journal clubs. Writing grants, IACUC proposals, publications, and presentations. Project proposal preparation and presentation to boards and scientific community/clinical veterinarians.
