Lake Forest College English Department
This prize is awarded to exceptional creative writers in their senior year of college to recognize their dedication and excellence to the field of creative writing. Two seniors receive this prize per graduating class.
Recipient of the Elizabeth W. Fischer Prize
Lake Forest College
This award recognizes seniors who have excelled both in academics and extracurricular activities throughout their years at Lake Forest College. Recipients must have earned a consistent GPA of 3.5 or higher and have been participants in numerous campus groups. This prize is awarded to one senior per year.
All-College Writing Contest Prize
Lake Forest College
Each year, Lake Forest College holds an all-college writing contest, in which students of all grade levels submit their best writing. A committee comprised of professors from several departments reviews each essay to determine the best. One prize is awarded to the winner each year.
Magna Cum Laude
Lake Forest College
Magna Cum Laude designates the students who graduated in the top 10% of their class.
Distinction on Senior Thesis
Lake Forest College
A panel of three professors, including the student's adviser, decide whether or not the senior project A) qualifies for thesis recognition and B) deserves distinction. The best theses receive distinction.
Richter Scholar
Lake Forest College
40 of the college's most-promising freshman students are invited to participate in the Richter Scholar program, where students spend 10 weeks of their summer assisting professors in their research projects. The summer program culminates in a symposium, where the students present the findings or projects from their summer work.
Hixon Theater Scholarship

The Hixon Theater Scholarship is awarded to students who show promise and dedication to the field of theater. To keep the scholarship, students must meet participation requirements throughout the year, which involve working on shows in several capacities and in several departments.
Carnegie Writing Scholarship

The Carnegie Writing Scholarship is awarded to students through the financial aid department. Students who qualify for this award must complete requirements to maintain the scholarship's standing. I maintained this scholarship by working at the Writing Center for 3 years.
