This award was created in honor of Paige Schumake DeVries, a wonderful person and friend to Wake Forest University and the band program within it who was unfortunately taken by cancer at a young age. The winner of this award is recognized for his/her devotion to the band program at Wake Forest University for the entirety of their undergraduate career. He/she must participate in all major ensembles available to his/her primary instrument and must display a high level of enthusiasm and devotion to the betterment of music. I was honored and humbled to receive this acclaimed award.
