Method Of Treating Sour Gas And Liquid Hydrocarbon

US Patent:
5744024, Apr 28, 1998
Filed:
Oct 12, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/542462
Inventors:
Daniel S. Sullivan - Houston TX
Allan R. Thomas - Houston TX
Juan M. Garcia - Sugar Land TX
Paul Yon-Hin - Houston TX
Assignee:
Nalco/Exxon Energy Chemicals, L.P. - Sugar Land TX
International Classification:
C10G 2920
US Classification:
208236
Abstract:
Reaction of 1,3,5-tri-substituted-hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine is accelerated in H. sub. 2 S scavenging by the addition of quaternary ammonium compound. The preferred hexahydro triazines are 1,3,5-tri-methyl-hexahydro-1,3,5-triazines and 1,3,5-tri-methoxypropyl-hexahydro-1,3,5-triazines. The blend of the hexahydro triazine and quaternary ammonium compounds can be used to treat sour gases and liquids (e. g. sour kerosene, crude oil, fuel oils, heating oils, distillate fuels, bunker fuel oil, and the like.

Decalcification Of Refinery Hydrocarbon Feedstocks

US Patent:
2005024, Nov 3, 2005
Filed:
May 3, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/837806
Inventors:
Juan Garcia - Sugar Land TX, US
Michel Braden - Sugar Land TX, US
International Classification:
C10G017/00
US Classification:
20825100R, 208252000
Abstract:
A process for removing metal contaminants, particularly calcium, from hydrocarbon feedstocks is disclosed. The process comprises mixing the feedstocks with an effective metal removing amount of an aqueous solution of one or more water-soluble poly(acrylic acid) derivatives to form an aqueous phase containing the metal ions and a hydrocarbon phase and separating the hydrocarbon phase from the aqueous phase.
